A Step-By-Step Guide For The Boomers In Your Office Who Still Can’t Figure Out How To Use The Printer

Step 1: Checking if your computer is on

To embark on this journey, you will first need to verify that your computer has been turned on. This can be done by simply glancing at the screen. If it’s black, your computer is either off or in sleep mode. Either way, hitting the power button should do the trick and get things going. (This is the button labeled with what looks like an upside-down lollipop.)

If you see the home screen or the retro screen saver you managed to figure out how to activate all on your own, then you’re in luck! Your computer is already on! Give your mouse a wiggle now and get that dinosaur warmed up.

Step 2: Preparing your document

Next, you’ll want to locate the keyboard. A keyboard is used to gingerly finger-tap each desired letter into a word processor. The word processor is the one with the blank white screen.

Each typed word should appear on the monitor, arranged in the order you desire. Things like font type, size, spacing, and color can be adjusted using the options available at the top of the screen, but this kind of creativity should only be attempted by experienced users.
